The President's Plan vs. Republican Inaction

Reduce our deficit in a balanced way

YES: The President's plan avoids the harmful effects of a sequester and reduces our deficit by $4 trillion total in a balanced way by cutting wasteful spending and eliminating tax loopholes that benefit the wealthiest Americans.
NO: House Republicans would place the burden of deficit reduction on the backs of working and middle-class families by cutting vital services for children, seniors, people with mental illness, small businesses, and our troops.

Ask millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share

YES: Saves $580 billion and preserves crucial services for working and middle-class families by closing tax loopholes that benefit wealthy Americans and well-connected corporations.
NO: Protects tax loopholes for millionaires and billionaires like breaks for owning a corporate jet or shipping jobs overseas, while slashing investments that are vital to the middle class.

Create jobs and keep our economy growing

YES: Reduces the deficit while protecting investments in education, clean energy, and research that will create jobs and grow the middle class.
NO: Guts investments in education, clean energy, manufacturing, small businesses, and other building blocks of the economy, threatening thousands of jobs, in order to protect tax loopholes for the wealthiest Americans and corporations.
