69-year-old Dorothy Touchstone lives in Texas, and she has a skin condition that prevents her from spending much time outside. But she doesn’t let that stop her from making a difference in this election.
“The only things I know how to do on a computer are what I love doing—staying in touch with my kids, keeping up with the news, and making phone calls for the President.”
From her home in LaPorte, Dorothy has made thousands of phone calls using the Obama 2012 call tool and stands alone atop the caller leaderboard.
“I try to sit down and make calls at least three or four times a week. But when I sit down, I make up my mind that I’m gonna do 100 calls or more. My goal is 200, and I have gone over 250 before. I’ll start around 1:00 p.m. and I’ll finish around 7:00 p.m. with a break in between.
“Even if they’re not home, I talk to the person who’s there. With one lady, I said, well I was calling for this person, but since I have you on phone, can you get your entire family to vote for President Obama?”
